What are the challenges to creating a desk model and schedule template, and how can data help us? Where can it not help us? Come find out what we've done and what we plan to do moving forward. This presentation will take a look at data that helps staff in the Access and Information Services department continue to refine the desk model and scheduling template to make it flexible and reactive to inevitable daily changes and challenges that come with scheduling 60 humans at 4 service points.
Data considered during this ongoing process includes: employee absences, employee scheduling preferences, voicemail data, circulations and reference questions, gate counts and a real time data assessment of desk activity. We draw this data from a number of different tools, including When to Work, Desk tracker, Alma (ILS) Analytics, Gmail, and good old pencil and paper.
